What is NOT included in the package price?

The following are NOT included in our package price:

Personal expenses and shopping
Any meals or snacks outside of the standard itinerary
Entry tickets to sites not specifically mentioned in the itinerary
Jeep rides to specific locations such as Fairy Meadows, Deosai, and Naltar Valley where separate jeep hire is required
Chairlift, cable car, or boat ride charges
Tips for guides, drivers, or hotel staff
Any additional activities or excursions requested personally
Medical expenses or travel insurance
Any costs arising from itinerary changes due to weather, road conditions, or unforeseen circumstances

Can I get a private or customised trip?

Absolutely. We offer fully customised private tours for individuals, couples, families, student groups, and corporate teams. You can choose your own destinations, travel dates, accommodation level, and group size. Are families and children welcome on Dreamways tours?

Absolutely — families are very welcome on all our tours. We regularly host families with children of all ages and our team takes special care to ensure families are comfortable, safe, and well looked after throughout the journey. For families with very young children or specific requirements please contact us before booking so we can make appropriate arrangements.

How much advance payment is required to confirm my booking?

We require a 50% advance deposit at the time of booking to confirm your seat. The remaining 50% balance is due 7 days before your departure date. Full payment details including account numbers will be shared by our team after your booking enquiry is received.

Is the trip safe for females travelling alone?

Yes — absolutely. Dreamways Travels warmly welcomes solo female travellers on all our group tours. The safety and comfort of every traveller — especially solo females — is our top priority. Our tours are guided throughout, our group environments are friendly and respectful, and our team is always available for support. Many of our group tours include other solo female travellers so you will never feel alone. If you have any specific concerns please contact us before booking and we will be happy to address them.

What should I pack for a northern Pakistan trip?

Here is our recommended packing list for northern Pakistan tours:

Clothing:

Warm jacket or fleece — essential even in summer at high altitudes
Warm hat, gloves, and scarf
Comfortable and modest clothing for daily wear
Warm thermal socks — multiple pairs
Comfortable walking or trekking shoes with good grip
Light waterproof or windproof jacket

Essentials:

Personal medicines and basic first aid
Sunglasses — UV protection essential at high altitude
Sunscreen SPF 50+ — sun is very strong in the mountains
Reusable water bottle
Small torch or headlamp
Power bank for charging devices
Camera or good smartphone for photography
Original CNIC or passport — required at some checkpoints

What is the minimum temperature I should prepare for?

Temperatures in northern Pakistan vary significantly depending on the destination, altitude, and time of year. As a general guide:

We strongly recommend packing warm layers regardless of the season — temperatures drop significantly at night and at high altitudes even during summer months.

What vehicle will we travel in?

For most of our group tours we use comfortable Toyota Coaster or Hi-Ace minibuses for the main highway journey along the Karakoram Highway. For off-road destinations and remote areas such as Fairy Meadows, Deosai Plains, Naltar Valley, and Skardu surroundings, 4x4 Jeeps are used as these roads require high-clearance four-wheel-drive vehicles. All our vehicles are well-maintained, road-worthy, and driven by experienced professional drivers.

Can I choose my seat in the vehicle?

Seats in our group tour vehicles are allocated on a first-come first-served basis based on booking date. If you have a specific seating preference — such as a window seat or a seat near the front — please mention this at the time of booking and we will do our best to accommodate your request. We cannot guarantee specific seat allocations but we always try to be as flexible as possible for our travellers.

What is the pick-up point and departure time?

The exact pick-up location and departure time will be shared with all confirmed travellers 3 to 5 days before departure via WhatsApp. Please ensure you arrive at the pick-up point at least 30 minutes early.

Are Jeep rides included in the package price?

Jeep rides are included in the package price for destinations where they are a standard part of the tour itinerary and specifically mentioned in the package details. However for some specific locations — such as Fairy Meadows, upper Naltar Valley, and certain Deosai routes — separate local Jeep hire charges apply and are not included in the base package price. These charges are typically shared among the group to keep costs minimal. Your tour guide will inform you of any additional Jeep charges in advance.ard:

What entry tickets are not included in the package price?

Entry tickets that are typically NOT included in our package price include:

Attabad Lake boat ride tickets
Chairlift or cable car rides at any destination
Deosai National Park entry fee (if not stated in itinerary)
Museum and fort entry tickets (Baltit Fort, Altit Fort)
Any national park or conservation area fees not mentioned in itinerary
Optional activity charges such as zip-lining or ATV rides

Any entry tickets that ARE included will be clearly stated in your specific package itinerary. If you are unsure about a specific entry ticket please ask our team before booking.

What is the cancellation and refund policy?

Our cancellation and refund policy is as follows:

What happens if the itinerary changes due to weather or road conditions?

The safety of our travellers is always our absolute top priority. Northern Pakistan is a mountainous region where weather, road landslides, and conditions can change unexpectedly. In the event of such situations:

We will modify the itinerary to visit alternative destinations where possible
Our team will communicate all changes immediately and transparently
In cases of significant delays or disruptions we will do our best to compensate with additional experiences
Refunds are not provided for itinerary changes caused by weather, natural events, or government restrictions as these are beyond our control

We always carry backup plans for every tour and our experienced guides handle unexpected situations calmly and professionally.

Will there be a tour guide throughout the entire trip?

Yes — every Dreamways Travels tour includes a professional and experienced local tour guide who stays with your group for the entire duration of the trip from departure to return. Our guides are knowledgeable about the history, culture, geography, and attractions of northern Pakistan and are there to ensure your safety, comfort, and enjoyment at every step of the journey. They also act as translators and liaisons with local communities where needed.
